Big booms. The dog is scared. Am I the only one who thinks thunder storms are cool and actually like them once and a while?

If it's gonna rain, I really like having thunder. Only downsides are, you know, electronics and stuff.

Yeah I love being able to watch a good thunderstorm. Sucks seeing a dog scared though, that's always a bummer.

Very infrequently they are cool, not when it has been raining for a month.

I would if I wasn't always terrified that it's going to strike the tree out front of the house. It's been around since the turn of the 20th century and it's what gives a lot of our house character.

Otherwise, it would be a blast.

Also, if it's a big storm like you say, I highly suggest going out and playing Pink Floyd's Great Gig in the Sky. It's unforgettable.

If it would rain/storm all day, every day for the rest of my life, I wouldn't complain one bit.

The only happen here in the middle of the night. You know....when you're trying to sleep. So no I don't care for them.

I grew up in Texas and now live in Utah. I really miss them. This will be my first summer away!

You are not alone. When I moved to VA in '96, thunderstorms would happen like clockwork at the same time every year. After 2004, the weather got all fucky and now the only time thunderstorms seem to show up is in the wee hours of the morning when I'm usually asleep. They also tend to be really pathetic these days.

So, to make up for it, I often loop a thunderstorm from my absurdly sized PC speakers. It's not the same, though, because the thunder doesn't boom enough and you can't feel it shake the ground.

Oh, and the sound of lightning splitting a tree is the absolute most amazing auditory experience on planet Earth. Period.
